Gunit meet up
Where? Rachel’s Hole
Why? Because it was all cosy and warm :D
Gunit was all sorts of fun and games last night - This time, it was at Rachel’s place where we got to admire her gigantic moist hole… *giggle*
The poor girl has been plagued with poor plumbing, puddles and a vampire for a landlord, but that wasn’t going to stop us from getting all cozy at her place while we crafted and gazed into her dark abyss.
I spent most of my time winding balls of all the pretty new yarn with Gillian - I’m starting a new knitting project to skill up on my knitting. I’m trying the hitchhiker out for my sister in some of Knitsch’s lovely Merino sock yarn. I’ll keep you all posted on my progress :)
The other day I got asked what it is I actually do when I say I have my craft group night on Wednesdays and it got me thinking about what people actually think when I tell them I craft at a bar…
So this is what I’ve concluded…
So I just got told off on twitter for not updating the blog quick enough by @rachelrayner … I told her it was because my iPhone disapproved of her pretty, shiny nails! My phone is a hater! But look at the pretty nails! So pretty :D We were super excited to find out that the Library bar has moved cocktails and manicures night from Tuesdays to WEDNESDAYS!! it means we can has ALL the manicures while doing ALL the crochets!! *squees*
It’s that time again!
Where: The Library Bar - 1 Pakenham Street East
When: 6pm onwards
What: Bring your craft!
So I’m slack. I wait until the night before NEXT GUnit before uploading photos from LAST GUnit…
I blame The Hunger Games. It distracted me with its story and general awesomeness… I couldn’t put it down.
Anyways, back to the pretty shiny yarn :P
So I figured that I ought to show off my projects and brag just a little about what I’ve been working on.
The top two images are the GUnit blanket - it’s become a sort of “initiation” if you will for GUnit members once they’ve picked up the skills to crochet! I’ve done two versions of it, the top on in red is the one I’m still working through. I’ve used a 10mm hook with a tight guage. The orange one was a gift for my friend Jen and my first attempt - I was super stoked with how it turned out!
The Slouchie hat was another gift I did - this time for my friend Zoe (who so kindly modelled it for me - what a babe!) It’s a mix of double and trebble stitches which turned out really lovely :)
And finally we have my little bobble hat that I’m making for mum. It’s almost finished, just one more round of single crochet on the band and I’m done!
